OPTIMUM CANINE
2015 coming back from work in the USA. I (Ruan) decided to get a dog that can work with me and just always be with me. There was a lot of options out there. I finally decided on the working line German shepherd.
2016 I was introduced to the Belgian Malinois breed and got my first Belgian Malinois a year later.
Working with both breeds is just a joy. Seeing every day how inelegant and willing to learn both breeds are, is just incredible.
Soon after getting to work with the breeds. We (Family kennel) started to breed with both of the breeds.

In 2017, we (Hamman Family) were looking for a dog breed that would adapt well to farm life and for the protection of our home and family
We fell in love with the Belgian Malinois because of their intelligence and protective nature and then finally decided to get one for our family.
From there we decided to start breeding, not only for working dogs but also for family companions and protectors.
Since we have small children of our own, we strive to breed dogs that can fit into family life but also take their job as home and farm protectors seriously.

2023 Ruan Prins left the family kennel, to start his own kennel with his wife and kids. We (Prins family) were already great friends with the Hamman family.
It just didn’t make sense to not go on this journey together. With both families being great friends and having the same amount of love for their dogs.
Together we strive to make the breed better for the future and to leave the breed in even a better state than we found it.
Our goal is to breed a dog that’s teachable, great with kids, healthy (mentally and physically), protective (family and home), workable (livestock, protection, explosives, tracking, hunting, sporting),family pet and awesome to be around with the whole day.
